Just wanted to send a quick thank you email, took your pool chemistry class last month and I am happy to report I can finally understand pool service and what exactly I’ve been doing the last 30 years in business. I really appreciate you taking the time to understand and explain how these elements of water chemistry interact and how I can better my business, then taking the time to get the information to me. For decades I thought alkalinity was reduced because of acid injection and now I can understand why and how liquid chlorine does not raise Ph. We’ve noticed when feeding any hypochlorite our alkalinity would drop and we had to use sodium bicarb to bring it back up- I finally understand why. Also thank you for getting out the information on borates- this is not the easiest thing to understand let alone sell- took me 6 months to get PoolCorp to bring it to our market and I finally received my first shipment last week. I want to work with local professionals to convince our health department to allow borates for use in the commercial market. Please keep up the good work, aquatic professionals have waited too long for quality information! Over 30 years I’ve grown a pool service and repair company to a 14 person crew servicing/repairing about 400 commercial and residential pools in the Las Vegas valley. If you’re ever looking for a beta test site or data from the field please let me know. Thank you again!
